55ft Comprehensive Refit
Over three months, The DUKE underwent an extensive refit at Bay of Islands Boatyard, bringing together multiple specialist marine businesses to complete a comprehensive restoration, upgrade and repaint.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
From major cosmetic improvements through to mechanical, electrical and interior upgrades, this 55ft Regal 700 showcases the capability of Bay of Islands Boatyard to successfully coordinate complex refit projects from start to finish.
Working alongside a trusted network of marine specialists, the project was managed by the Bay of Islands Boatyard team, ensuring every stage was completed to an exceptional standard. The result is a beautifully refreshed vessel, ready to head back on the water with confidence.

Coordinated by Boatyard Manager Rhys Dempster, The DUKE's three-month refit brought together multiple specialist marine businesses to deliver a seamless, fully managed project.
From planning and scheduling through to contractor coordination, progress updates and quality control, Rhys acted as the single point of contact for the owner, ensuring every stage of the refit was completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
By managing the entire process on behalf of the owner, Bay of Islands Boatyard simplified what could otherwise be a complex project, allowing multiple trades to work together seamlessly while delivering an exceptional final result.

This work was carried out very professionally and to a very high standard of workmanship, and the finished product is IMMACULATE.
Overall there were a large contingent of different trades and subcontractors that worked on The DUKE and I cannot fault any one of them.
Rhys Dempster handled the project management side of the operation and was very professional in all aspects..... His communication skills are without question, and his ability to manage all the subcontractors, and his team, to keep the time out of the water to a minimum was excellent - And such a great guy to work with.
All in all, I would strongly recommend Bay of Islands Boat Yard, their team of Workers, and their Subcontractors for the high quality of work on The Duke, and in particular to Rhys as Project Manager, who worked within my budget, and minimal time out of the water, considering all the work that was done.

50ft Refit & Full Repaint
While cruising New Zealand, the owners of S/Y Deriska entrusted Bay of Islands Boatyard with an extensive repaint and restoration project, leaving their vessel in the hands of our experienced team while they continued their travels.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Deriska's refit combined meticulous preparation, premium marine refinishing and careful attention to detail to restore the vessel's appearance and protect it for years to come.
With the owners travelling while the work was underway, Bay of Islands Boatyard coordinated the project on their behalf, ensuring every stage progressed smoothly while providing regular updates throughout the process.
The combination of skilled craftsmanship and proactive communication gave the owners complete confidence that their yacht was in safe hands.

Regular video updates, photographs and direct communication allowed the owners to follow the progress of their yacht from wherever they were travelling, providing confidence and peace of mind throughout the project.
By managing the scheduling of specialist trades, overseeing quality at every stage and maintaining clear communication throughout, the team ensured the project progressed smoothly from start to finish.
