Starting with a fantastic summer with great boating, although some days turned quite apocalyptic with the afternoons getting dark as the sun was shielded behind ash and smoke clouds from the Australian bush fires. Then a very long dry spell putting restrictions on water usage leaving us at “level 4 water restrictions” for nearly 3 months and then the BIG one. Covid-19 hit the country forcing the government to “lockdown” New Zealand and telling us to all “stay home and save lives”, leaving us stuck at home with even more beautiful weather dreaming about our boats. These were challenging times for us all and here at the marina we were kept busy tending to the daily needs of the marina and working on policies and procedures to ensure we complied with the ever changing government requirements to allow boat owners back onsite as we transitioned down through the alert levels.
